Wonderful Wednesday

It's a beautiful day here. Clear skies, lots of sunshine. You can hear the Nuthatches chattering away as they collect pine cone seeds. I was greeted by this wonderful site in the garden.
It's always a pleasant surprise when one of these blooms. It's not something I planted. All I can think of when I see one is "boy, those bees were sure busy last year!" Now I'm wondering if this will carry through in the seeds produced. Yup. I'm collecting seeds like crazy!!  :-)

The beautiful bloom is not the only new thing around here. I brought home a "souvenir" of sorts from the fair. Here is my new ram, Finbar. He's almost five months old. He's out of Thistlebloom Clara and Boulderneigh Bluster. I love him and think he is perfect. He's such a sweetie and is so incredibly soft!

It's not a very flattering photo of him. He was looking into the morning sun. It's the best one I've gotten so far. He's in with my young ram, Hamish, and whenever they see me they both come running up for some loving. Needless to say I end up with photos like this:
Or this....
Or this....

Fair Time part 2

There were lots of amazing displays and entries. Here are a few of my favorites.
Doxie cross stitch
Dress made from the pages of a book
This was all carved from wood complete with a sign saying "do not flush"

Lots and lots of wonderful displays and entries. There was even a tiny house that you could walk in. This particular tiny house is being built for the homeless. The homeless person helps build the tiny house and then it becomes theirs. The one I walked in was about 200 square feet. Really cute inside.

Magical Monday

I know. You're thinking "I saw this yesterday." And you would be right. You saw yesterday's beautiful bloom. This is today's magical moment. What makes this so magical? Well, first off I only planted purple and pink morning glories this year. No blue at all. Secondly, I don't think I've ever seen a morning glory that looked "painted", for lack of a better descriptive. I wonder if the birds, bees, and butterflies did something magical in my garden last year resulting in some pretty amazing self-seeding. I also wonder if this will replicate itself via the seeds I've started collecting. Only time will tell.

Still here....and still stitching

I'm participating in a sew-along with Sue Daley (busyfingerspatchwork.com) . This is my progress so far. All hexies, all hand-sewn.

These are hexies for the next step. Or at least my next step. I'm behind by a week. Guess I need to stitch a bit quicker......
...or just continue to enjoy the journey at my own pace. I think I'll take door #2.  :-)
