......has a funny way of getting your notice. Not only did it get my notice, but it got my full un-divided attention........for quite some time. I was absolutely floored when I realized that it had been close to a month and a half since I last posted on my blog. It wasn't my intention to go this long without a post. Life just happened....although that didn't stop me from quilting. Just gave me even more reason to quilt. Gave me a wonderful break from life.
While I haven't gotten to quilt as much as I would like, I did manage to squeeze small amounts of time in here and there. Enough to make a few blocks.....and stay caught up with the block of the month I'm taking through a local shop. This BOM is a bit different than others that I have done in the past. Instead of picking up a monthly kit, there is actually a monthly class that you attend. Each class covers a new technique (such as couching) and a new foot. It also gives you a wonderful opportunity to play with some of those decorative stitches on your machine. For me, it has added a whole new dimension to machine applique......and has been tons of fun in the process.
Pictured above (and below) are a few of the blocks I have done so far. These are all done on my Pfaff using a few of the many decorative stitches that are on my machine. As an added bonus (or twist, depending on which way you look at it) I'm also learning how to digitize these same blocks. Yes, I do have two of the same quilts going. One being done on the machine and one that is digitized then stitched out using my embroidery unit. And I'm thoroughly enjoying both. It has been a wonderful learning experience. :.)
